Supreme Leader's Representatives for Hajj and Pilgrims Affairs: Host Country Honoring Pilgrims of Holy House of Allah
Hojjat al-Islam Seyed Abdolfattah Navvab called for a review of the punishment of pilgrims who do not comply with the laws due to lack of knowledge of the instructions and laws of the host country, and emphasized: "Honoring the pilgrims of the Holy House is of concern to the authorities of the host country."
According to the Hajj Information Base, Hojjat al-Islam Navvab, the representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs, who has traveled to Saudi Arabia, made this statement at the meeting of the Supreme Leader’s Mission Planning Council and the Umrah Operations Headquarters held at the Balad al-Tayyib Hotel in Mecca. He asked Mr. Hassan Zarnegar, the Consul General of our country in Jeddah, to convey this message to the authorities of the host country.
"Pilgrims of Islamic Iran consider it mandatory to comply with the regulations of the host country and believe that a guest who enters this country must comply with those regulations, even if the reason is not clear to him," he said.
The head of Iranian pilgrims added, "On the other hand, pilgrims have the right to be informed of these regulations in some way, because if a pilgrim is punished without knowing the laws, it is an example of the punishment of the wicked, which is an abomination to all the wise people in the world."
Hojjat al-Islam Navvab stated, "A pilgrim who, after years of waiting, has reached the land of revelation and has put on a headscarf without knowing the laws, must be justified."
The representative of the Supreme Leader for Hajj and Pilgrimage Affairs emphasized the need to respect and honor the pilgrims of the Sacred House, and said, "The punishment for a pilgrim who unknowingly and unintentionally commits a criminal act is to be released upon obtaining a commitment."
The head of Iranian pilgrims, emphasizing that the duty of the Supreme Leader’s delegation and the Hajj and Pilgrimage Organization is to justify and support the pilgrims, stated: "The path to support is to discuss such problems with the Consulate of the Islamic Republic of Iran so that the authorities in the matter can try to negotiate with the authorities of the host country to reconsider such actions."
Hojjat al-Islam Navvab added, "The relations between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Saudi Arabia, which are two neighboring and Muslim countries, must continue for years, and the parties must do everything they can to create a peaceful atmosphere free from tension and hatred, and this is the religious and humanitarian commandment of both countries."
